iPhone ECU Reader Application

I downloaded a fanstastic application last night. Haven't given it a proper try yet but the Z4 will be my white mouse for it :)

It's an iPhone exclusive and will work with most modern cars I suspect. If it does what it says on the tin it will be a screamer.

Rev

OBD Metrics (Requires OBD-II/WLAN interface hardware)

* Vehicle Speed

* RPM

* Fuel Consumption

* Engine Coolant Temp

* Fuel Pressure

* Calculated Engine Load

* Throttle Position

* Intake Manifold Pressure

* Air Intake Temp

* Timing Advance

* Mass Air Flow

* Fuel Level

* Barometric Pressure

* EVAP System Vapor Pressure

* Fuel Trim

Just type "Rev" into the app search on your iPhone or on the App store in iTunes.

I haven't no, is it the concept of flying the plane by tilting the handset?

This app is a beast. Just downloaded it and some of the options on it are great. G-Meters, 0 - 60 time reading etc. If this works smoothly with the car, I dare if you have any problems with your car it could be diagnosed by this and possibly fixed without sending it into the stealer.

I'm all excited now. It really does look awesome :)

:grin: great comment on their site....

Rev has been designed to be easy to use in car-mounted iPhone/iPod Touch installations.

While we OFFICIALLY DO NOT RECOMMEND USING Rev OR OTHER IPHONE/IPOD TOUCH APPLICATIONS WHILE DRIVING, we do think it would be a mind-bendingly awesome experience were anyone to actually try it.

This looks like a very nice app... along with Dynolicious, Facebook and eBay apps... I'm loving my iPhone more and more. :grin:

Has anyone ordered the Wifi/OBD interface yet? I'll have one too if we can get a group discount +++

Just read the website properly and have added my name to the UPDATE EMAIL list.

Was wondering when you were going to post on this :)

The Wi-Fi receiver isn't available yet because it's apparently still in development....I'll have one though. Depends how much it is and whether the final version of the program is a rip-off or not.

That comment on their site made me chuckle yesterday aswell :D

EDIT: The G-Meter works, had some fun with that last night! The brakes didn't like it though!

Just installed this. The G-Meter seems cool from what I can tell. One question though, what are you guys using to secure the iPhone when you use this/Dynolicous?

I have a snap-in adaptor for the iPhone under my centre arm rest, holds it perfectly and easy to get at to set/calibrate before a run. Haven't used it for a while, always seems to be wet and without Quattro, it effects the 0-60 time a tiny bit.
