wkrzys
It'll never happen, but another one on my 'to do' list is the Mongol Rally, for the opportunities of belt and braces spannering in the middle of no-where, and the opportunity for creating international incidents in 'somewhere'stan. Done that one ;-) Earlier this year... took 3 weeks 5 days - 2 cars, 5 of us(1984 1.0L VW Polo & 1989 1.3L VW Polo Fox... wasnt much left of them at the end). Awesome adventure... and yes, international incidents galore... Seeing as that ones now been ticked off the list for me... ill add - do the South American Rally (Ecuador to Rio for the carnival), or African Rally (London to Cambodia).... (in equally old cars)
m4ttm4son
As for other motoring things to do before you die....Survive rolling your car and landing on its roof completely unscathed .... until you undo your seat belt. done that :slap: Surely there has to be a list of circuits one has to , not just the 'ring! theduisbergkid
done that :slap: Ditto, rolled and spun 360 degrees, me and Bootsy, picking glass out of various intimate cracks and crevices for weeks afterwards... happy days. I fancy a tonk round the I.O.M too, but on 4 wheels, not 2 as I'm not a mentalist.
shark_90
Bollox to "hmmm". Get yourself a 156 V6 and tank it down there OK, so you'll have to leave a few days early, but imagine the class of arriving in an Alfa. On the back of a French recovery truck... You can always ask Lagoo how he felt when he left the campsite at Le Mans witht the CSL on the back of a French recovery truck... cue cheers from the entire campsite! And possibly even MORE embarrassing, was being towed out of the campsite back to the same dealer less than 24 hours after by my sh1tbox S2
Tipex
Survive rolling your car and landing on its roof completely unscathed .... until you undo your seat belt. Done that, rolled a Pug 406 (I should be rewarded for killing one) several times across a field, and into and along a ditch (thankfully dry at the time) to be stopped by a big tree! No injuries whatsoever, wasn't wearing a seatbelt, was slightly strange to find I was sitting on the sunroof (inside the car). Only injury was getting stung off some nettles once I'd got out (through the boot)! I fancy a tonk round the I.O.M too, but on 4 wheels, not 2 as I'm not a mentalist. Done that too! in a Mercedes* whilst putting the water slide into the international leisure centre just outside Douglas some years back. *Sprinter Van... Rachel
Where? Roughly, the highway from Alice Springs to Darwin - which used to be unlimited (now 130kph). What? A Bowler Nemesis How? Flat chat parallel to (200-500m off) to the road (where there are NO speed limits).
