EdIver
Talking about 2004 mods, a spooky new choice on 1.8Ts on the Saloon and Avant has popped up on audi.co.uk. There's now a 163 PS "Limited Edition" and a 190 PS "S-Line" and you can't get SE or Sport... suspicious... What's that all about??? Is this the beginning of the end for the Turbos and a way to force the FSIs on us?? I don't like the FSIs - they don't whistle!! Ed
Ari
Also the best thing about the 1.8T is the low down torque, apparently you have to rev the FSI's to make 'em go... Not so good. Saying that though, the 163PS and 190PS are both 1.8T engines aren't they? I know they upgraded the A4 1.8T from 163 to 190 last year, I wonder if they've reintroduced the 163 for company car drivers as it's probably got lower emissions so better on company car tax. You sure about dropping the sport and SE versions? Seems odd that..
Ari
SE and Sport are both still available, the SE as a free upgrade (so who's going to buy a non SE!?) Seems the 163/190 engine options is just a case of extending the range (possibly for reasons mentioned above?) From the Audi UK web site: [ QUOTE ] The A4 is currently available with a number of high-value packages, from the free SE upgrade to the striking Sport specification for just £500. Two new 1.8 T models, the 163PS 1.8T Limited Edition and the 190PS 1.8T S line extend the appeal of the range, whilst Audi’s multitronic transmission is now available for just £500, reduced from its original price of £1,450. EdIver
Hmmm... you may be right but I still suspect!! When I tried to configure a Sport derivative it wouldn't let me.... and they've dropped the Turbo from the A3 and it looks like they're going to drop it from the A6 in 2004. With you on the low end torque - lurve the wife's A3T and am getting my new Avant on Monday!! Partytime!!!
