What car year is this on? Is this plugged into a lead in the glovebox (dealer fit interface), or under the arm rest USB socket (factory interface).

I have a 30Gb 5G iPod Video and it worked fine in my 56 plate 535d plugged into a glovebox interface.... and it also works fine plugged into my 57 plate M3s USB interface.

Try another iPod video to make sure it's not just the unit, then give your dealer a call and say the iPod connection has "stopped working... please can you fix it under warranty"

It's the one in the armrest on my 08 E92. It's weird, it doesn't work in my AMG either when an iPod touch does.

Dodgy unit I'm thinking rather than dicky interface

Hi, sorry to impose but I am new to this forum and not too sure of etiquette...

Just got rid of X5 with a interface added to glove box - ipod 60gb Video worked a treat on play lists but no details, just track numbers.

No more horses, so have just taken delivery of new 335d M Sport Coupe (love it and only had it a day!) - I now have Aux in and USB (with cable) in arm rest and dealer suggested the USB is best option???? Anyway, I can get the i-drive to see the USB Stick (4gig lexar) but it can't read the files, other than the lexar standard stuff. I am running my i-tunes on a Mac, so does anyone know what file format I need to export the music lists in?????

Bit stuck and need my music.

Your Ipod should work a treat with full functionality (I'm also a Mac user with Mac format Ipod/Iphone's)

Have you got the specific lead for the ipod? Its not the one that comes with the cars but more of a 'Y' shaped cable.

Worked for me

Thanks - I thought I would need to get this. I have been trying to copy music from itunes to a usb but can get it to see the usb, but no music or names. Where do I get the special Y shaped cable from ? (I assume it uses the aux in and usb ports?)
