Water spots

Hello TT

Did you buy that Sonus green clay? It does say it WONT REMOVE your LSP, then how effective can it be? LOL. Well anyway....that can be used "locally" to take out your water spots.

You can take the clay and just make a small ball (like the size of pencil rubber) rather then a big, wide flat clay piece and go an head and take each water sport on its own out. Feel free to lube the whole panel as it wont harm the paintwork. Unless you have alot that might be the best thing. Then you can re wax the panel or do you have alot of water spots?

Water spots can be etchings, that might well require your machine polisher to sort them. If the are no longer "crusty" then you might have some etchings or just some damage to your LSP. Again, you can always use some of your Vanila Moose Hand glaze, on the tip of an applicator or on a microfibre cloth. Put a dot on the cloth, put your finger behind it and do a "local" on one or two water sports to see what the damage is. Then just cover that area with LSP again, it shouldent be to much hassle.

Once you know which is the fix you can know what to do next. Most commerical water spot removers, IPA, vinegar etc. will remove LSP.

Thanks for the advice Geoff - a few options to try.

I plan to fully detail the car again at Easter weather permitting (clay, machine polish etc) but I thought I would 'practice' removing these spots so I know how best to deal with them if I get any more at some stage after my planned detail.

I'll be amazed if Sonus Green clay doesn't remove LSP. Maybe some of these semi permanent sealants would be ok (Lifeshine etc). As you say, what would be the point in it!

Cheers, Phil
