Don't really know what to say about this article.....

Terrafugia announced today that its Transition Roadable Aircraft Proof of Concept took its first flight. Known as the “flying car,” the Transition is a two-seater aircraft designed for flight and road travel.

Transformation from plane to a road car takes less than 30 seconds.

Terrafugia says that the Transition is able to travel up to 450 miles at speeds of over 115 miles and can also be driven at highway speeds on the road. After transforming back into its car form, the Transition can fit in a standard household garage. According to Terrafugia, the Transition® runs on unleaded gasoline from any regular gas station.

“This breakthrough changes the world of personal mobility. Travel now becomes a hassle-free integrated land-air experience. It’s what aviation enthusiasts have been striving for since 1918,” said Carl Dietrich, CEO of Terrafugia.

The first flight was successfully completed by Phil Meteer, retired Colonel, USAFR at Plattsburgh International Airport in Plattsburgh, NY.
