I'm new to this forum (just got my 2007 335i) but have observed, over several days, a general level of support for those of us with problems. Here's the problem. My hubs is working on a friend's 2004 S4. It has blown the power steering hose twice in one year. Since it is a closed system and the hose doesn't have any tears in it, we are thinking of removing the restrictor inside the hose. Would this help? Hurt? Any other ideas??? Thanks! patsyno1 Posted March 30, 2009 Report Share Posted March 30, 2009 Not certain abut this but it could be one of two things 1. the hose fixing might not be sturdy enough to hold - are you using oem hose? 2. you have a blockage or foreign object in the fluid system. Not sure if this helps, but I would say the restrictor is inserted to help manage the flow rate and removal would probably cause further ruptures on the hose Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
