Wizbit
I'm looking to get some 19" alloys for my A8, as it only has 18's at the moment and they look a bit weedy. Can anybody recommend a good place online to get A8 wheels? I'm not taking about your general alloy wheel seller here, as a quick Google reveals hundreds of them, but i'm after a place that specialises in Audi wheels. I'm not after anything fancy, just the standard 19" 12 spoke alloys or the 19" RS6 style alloys would do.
Ska
I bought mine from Rochford Tyres in Essex don't know if they are still about. But they deal with all sorts rather than just Audi wheels.
PsYcHe
I got the 12-spoke (18" though) from Rochford (alloywheels.com) and after 30+k they are looking incredibly tatty, though the tyres still have a good few k left on them.
Ska
What did you clean them with PsYcHe? If you use the local hand scratch wash they use some pretty intense chemicals which dull the finish of laquer; hence why I had my wheels refurbed. If I have to use a hand car wash (very occasionaly), I normaly pop them a quid or two extra so they wash the car properly, rinsing the wash mitt before they start on may car and putting new shampoo in to the bucket. They also know I don't like the tyre shine stuff and the squeegy blade never goes near the car.
PsYcHe
Just normal car soap.. It very rarely goes near the car wash places and my local uses snow foam stuff. Looks like it's just normal road debris hitting the laquered bits and it's then corroding. Saying that, I did pay £550 for the set with tyres, so can't complain too much. mlillywh
I'm also after some nice 19"s - the 30K and looking tatty argument seems to occur with the cheaper alloys on Ebay (just had a look - GBP435 for 4 19" alloys from Rochford) - something a bit harder wearing would be ideal - the full Audi set are a couple of grand if I remember rightly (ouch)

Wizbit
I used this company for a set of 4 brand new 20" AVUS D3 wheels it was 1700 euros shipped.>>> GLOBAL-TRADE-GERMANY.com <<< Just had a look...original A8 RS6 design 19" rims are €1,890 for a set of four, which is about £1,760 without delivery... Sounds about the same as Audi stealer prices. You got yourself a good deal on a set of 20's for €1,700 inc. delivery me thinks! Plus i bet that was back in the day when the pound was strong against the Euro, which would have helped ;o) Edited March 30, 2009 by Wizbit
