Wizbit
Every now and then when i drive over certain bumps or draincovers, i get a sort of knock/rattle from underneath the car. It feels/sounds like it is coming from under the drivers seat. I was thinking it might be the exhaust knocking against the bottom of the car. Does the exhaust follow the transmission tunnel up the middle, or is it routed nearer the outside of the car, such as under the seat? Failing that it could be coming from the front suspension i suppose, but it definitely feels like underneath the drivers seat, towards the outer edge of the car towards the door. Any suggestions? It's a 3.0 TDI D3.
Botang
not sure about the D3 but the D2 has a bracing bar bolted accross the tunnel and if that has been bent on a speed hump you may find it hits the exhaust, mine has done in the past.
