sermike75
Hi, I want to retrofit the red and white lights on the front doors. There lights on when the door is open. In my car (A4 B6) there are only the red indicators at the side of doors but there is not any wiring hardness or bulb. There is any DIY for this? Or anybody knows how I can do it, parts etc? Thank you Edited April 24, 2009 by sermike75

Thank you You are, in effect, attempting to retrofit part of what would have been the optional 'interior light pack'. I looked into doing this for a B7 Cab a couple of years ago and it was really expensive (I wanted the lights under the seats and in the front footwells too). As a factory fit option on a new B6 Cab I bought in 2004 it was about £140 in total.
t0m
Ive retro fitted the door lights both the red ones and white puddle lights cost about £120 for all the parts including the footwell lights. A guy on Audi-sport.net based up by Crewe helped me out i pre cut the puddle light holes making sure i did it carefully so that the lights fitted snuggley. Its a bit fiddely exposing the correct wires to connect to but all done and jobs a good one. We have not got round to installing the footwell lights yet but we are worknig on it as this guys has an A3 not an A4. He makes all the extra looms for people with A3's and sells them give him a shout his ID is RobinA3 and tell him Tom gave you his details. If he cannot help you he will point you in the right direction.
sermike75
Thank you my friends for the respond. As I read the retrofit has two divisions the hardware and the software. Today I tried to recode (temporaly) the modules "42-Door Elect, Driver" and "52-Door Elect, Pass.", but I have no access. There are no seperate 42 and 52 modules. Here is a part from VagCom scanning: ------------------------------ Address 46: Central Conv. Labels: 8E0-959-433-MIN.lbl Part No: 8E0 959 433 AR Component: Komfortgerαt T85 1310 Coding: 06720 Shop #: WSC 63251 Part No: 8E1959801B Component: Tυrsteuer.FS BRM 0003 Part No: 8E1959802B Component: Tυrsteuer.BF BRM 0003 No fault code found. ------------------------------ How can I make the recoding? sermike75
Finally I did it!!! The pins for drivers and passengers door are: Pin 13 (+) and Pin 21 (-). In my car the Pin 13 was empty, but Pin 21 had a brown cable (earth according of ElsaWin). To that pins I connect the warning light and the paddle light too. Also I didn't make any recode with VAG-COM. After I made the wirring connections and reassembled the door panels the lights automatically enabled... sermike75
Hi Sam, These are the ELSA diagrams for the rear doors of an Audi A4 2004 B6. I think the pins are T16/2,3 (+) and T16/6 (-). Check it for sure with an electrician.

Sinewave
Does anyone know how I can activate my puddles lights on my B7 A4 Avant, I have connected via VAG-com but can not access modules 42 & 52 just getting no response?
PetrolDave
can not access modules 42 & 52 just getting no response? The B7 doesn't have any modules at addresses 42 or 52. Audi A4/S4/RS4/Cabriolet (8E/8H) - Ross-Tech Wiki Did the door lights always come along with footwell lights? Might be worth trying changing the coding to include them Audi A4 (8E) Comfort System - Ross-Tech Wiki See Channel 61.
Sinewave
The puddle lights were already enabled, was just getting a pulse of 12volt for a second when opening the door as it was detecting no bulb (no current flow) it turns the 12volt supply off.
