vk1tx
Hi All, There is an exsessive amount of White smoke now and again coming from the exhaust when I am at a set of traffic lights for awhile then when I accelerate hard up a ramp on a uphill road to a freeway. Also sometimes if the car is not driven for a few days and on start up as well. By excessive I mean an embarrasing amount of white smoke almost not seeing the car behind me. BUt I stress only sometimes ,NOT always. Any body have any suggestions to why this is happening?
Tipex
Check the simple things first, is the oil level correct? not been over-filled? Otherwise, I'd imagine it's going to be either valve stem seals, piston rings or head gasket.
vk1tx
Hi Thanks, One thing I forgot to tell you that , ALL the Lifters thats 24 of them have been replaced by the Porsche dealer, and this has happened since that replacement. Maybe they did fill the oil tank a bit too high , will check via dipstick and not electronic readout on dash. Cheers, Alex
bullett
White smoke is normally steam/water. I'd check your water levels for the cooling system. Although I guess it could be the RMS issue. Has this been replaced on your car?
