Wizbit
When listening to music with a heavy bass line, there is a very annoying vibration that comes from the Bose subwoofer cover in the rear parcel shelf. If i pop this cover off, it disappears and sounds great, but as soon as i put the cover back on the vibration starts. It is driving me crazy. Has anybody else noticed this, and is there a way to stop it? I have already tried putting bits of rubber between the metal cover and the plastic backing, but this hasn't helped. I'm thinking i might even buy another cover to see if that cures it, but obviously don't want to do this if it will happen again. Any advice? sloss
That looks like you are getting a harmonic in the cover, that's a kind of induced sympathetic vibration. First make sure all the clips holding it on are working properly - any slack will allow it to vibrate noisily. Try sticking some tape inside the cover to see if that alters things then a bit of trial and error with deforming the cover very slightly to stop it vibrating so much. Turn the Bass down a bit LOL Edited August 11, 2009 by sloss
