I have a 2003 S4 (4.2 V8) which has only covered 40K miles (20K on a new short engine). I have a problem where the car intermittantly has poor acceleration, it's as though it's running on 7 cylinders instead of 8. Fault cures itself then re-appears and seems to be happening more often. The car is still under Audi approved used car guarantee so will get it back to the dealers to see if any fault codes are stored. It had this problem before the last service and Audi dealer diagnosed faulty knock sensor on number 2 which was replaced. unfortunately issue is still there:(.
