Snoopy
Will the new wheels be 7.5"x18" or 8"x18" ?
RedRobin
Will the new wheels be 7.5"x18" or 8"x18" ? ....Methinks you would already know the wheel sizes on the Monza's, so I'm guessing you're asking me the size of my new OZ Alleggerita's. In which case, I'm going for 8"x18" so that my F1 Assym 225 road tyres fit and importantly so I don't have to alter my suspension setup or clearances - If it works, don't mend it!! Snoopy
Robin, Keep us updated with the wheels please. Thanks. Except monzas (which i still think are Mk5 GTI wheel) what wheels do people think will look good on a mk6 GTI?

Well, I really love those Rocco (Interlagos?) wheels in that pic of the Carbon Grey Mk6 - I've seem them in the flesh and they look good and also they are VW oem. Snoopy
The Frog's front mudflap adventure (pix inside) Scirocco wheels. Carbon grey 5dr Interlagos here at last (more pix) More photos of that golf with the scirocco wheels.
JonC
The Frog's front mudflap adventure (pix inside) Scirocco wheels I'm not keen on the Rocco alloys at all, but that's probably because I'm not keen on the Rocco, so my judgement is somewhat marred. I do think the multi-spoke alloy option does suit the MkVI better than the MKV though.
RedRobin
.... I'm not keen on the Rocco either, not even in the more adventurous colours, but I do like the Interlagos wheels. There's a Mk6 GTD in glossy black locally and its oem wheels make it look really bling!
Snoopy
Im not a scirocco fan either but i do think they look good on that mk6 GTI and why i may consider them as an option myself but im looking at others too. The 8x18 ET41 5x112 Interlagos do seem to go for around £800 a set with delivery miles and tyres on the bay but the roc has bigger tyres (235x40x18) so i would not want them anyway if i go down that route. Still trying to find others that may look good on the mk6. Any ideas guys? Im sure you modified mk5 people have seen a few on mk5 that may work on the mk6. Riz
The rocco kind of looks ok from the front but I`m not sure on VW new direction when it comes to the rear sections...... esp the new GTi tail lights  But from what I`ve heard the build of the interior is improved..... RedRobin
.... Wheel design choices are so subjective. Personally I still prefer those Interlagos Rocco wheels but it also depends very much on the car's colour. Those black ones, though a bit fussy for my taste, would match the blinginess of a black Mk6 GTI very well.
Snoopy
Brain fade 8x18 ET41 5x112 So the ET is different iirc to the GTIs 7.5x18 i cannot remember extactly how it works again anyone remember. JonC
RR is right - alloy choice is very subjective. Personally, it's a no to all of those for me; they're all to Audi-esque or aftermarket for my taste and don't do the GTI justice like the legendary Monza II's did/do. Personally, it's a no to all of those for me; they're all to Audi-esque or aftermarket for my taste and don't do the GTI justice like the legendary Monza II's did/do. ....As soon as I posted that I was intending to buy some OZ Alleggerita's, someone PM'd me asking to buy my powdercoated Monza 18's. Although any money from their sale would help fund the LeggyRita's, I just can't bear to part with them and I really don't think my new OZ's will suit my GTI so well. However, it's the Alleggerita's lightweight advantages which attract me most. I can see that I'll fit my Monza's from November until March and the OZ's for the track season. I can't be arsed to keep swopping on a trackday event basis and then I wouldn't get enough of the OZ's benefits. Having seen them, I really don't like the oem black insert wheels on the Mk6 GTI and the ones on the Mk6 GTD are so bling!

Tarmac_Terrorist
Really? That cheap? I thought to retain the diamond cut etc it was at least £80-£100 per corner. I've seen some refurbed on VW forecourts and they look to be of extremely poor quality, so much so you've a job to tell they are still diamond cut. The laquer appears cloudy-ish. I've seen those 'cloudy-ish' Monza's on VW forecourts too - Almost looks matt grey patches! You can see it from 20ft away!
