davidpenman
Hi all. I've just bought my first S3 (a 2007 model). I've noticed a curious issue though, which is that when I have an FM radio station on (e.g Radio 1) and switch the heated rear window on I get a lot of interference and the radio is pretty much inaudible (AM radio is unaffected). I realise the aeriel is probably built in to the heated window element, but has anyone experienced this? Or do I have a problem? (albeit only for 5 minutes at a time!). Also, any suggestions for a decent company that can retrofit cruise control (in the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire/Wiltshire/Warwickshire area)? Any help appreciated. Biscuits
Hi David, Welcome I have the same issue with the heated rear screen, was going to get the dealer to look at it next time it's in. Ben at Shark Performance did my cruise. B
PetrolDave
when I have an FM radio station on (e.g Radio 1) and switch the heated rear window on I get a lot of interference and the radio is pretty much inaudible (AM radio is unaffected). The heated rear window element is also one of the aerials and there's an inline filter that's supposed to stop the interference, but this is a well known failure - so you need to replace the filter. Biscuits
Thanks Biscuits. One thing, is it the new cruise control Shark fitted which applies the brakes as well to maintain speed down hills etc.? Nope... that's only on the latest gen cars, new A4, A5, A6, etc.... The cruise is very basic, doesn't diplay set-speed in DIS or anything.... but it works
davidpenman
Thought I'd update you on this. Took my car to the dealer over Christmas and they diagnosed a faulty rear screen and fitted a new one under warranty. Result!
