I have just bought my missus a 2004 twist which has standard vw radio in it.

If i buy the vw single cd player that goes underneath it will everything plug in correctly and fit the dash or is there mounting brackets i need to fit also does the radio need to be removed to get to the wires or can i get to them from the back.

Cheers for any help.

Mrs Mook has a Twist. Is it the gamma stereo - with no front rear fader?

In an OEM fit, the CD player goes above the radio (don't ask why!). Radio needs to be removed so you can plug the CD player in the back and it should just slot in where the single DIN hole is.

Cheers mook

Just picked the car up tonight and it has a Beta radio casette player in it and the cd player slot is below the radio.

The radio player has no fader controls on it,i dont even think the car has rear speakers.

Do i have to swap them over as in lowering the radio and putting the cd where the radio was.

The Twist is one up from the basic model, so no rear speakers. It's quite a decent spec though, I reckon. But for £2K for a 53 plate 1.4 TDI, I wasn't looking at what gadgets it came with ;)

You can put the CD player below, because it's actually a double DIN housing that works in exactly the same way as the one in the Mk4 Golf.

Ive paid £2.900 for a 2004 SDI and i can honestly say the ride is as good if not better than my 53 passat highline.

For the prices they sell for on the bay ive actually started looking for the 6 disc you dont happen to know whether the fitment and cable connections are the same, ive read they are but just want to check.
