duplicate music finder/remover

I know there is a dupdetector for pix but is there any similar for mp3?

I want to trim my music folder before backing it up.

I know this is a recurring theme....but iTunes can do this for you.

Without being too flippant a Mac doesn't help me in this case -The files are on my PC.

Unless of course I buy a mac, transfer the files across, let Itunes have a hissy fit with music not obtained via it, and then let it do its stuff?

There must be an easier way...

Just scoured around and the pix removers do the same thing for music files so I'll give that a shot.

SLoud MCI was fantastics at getting the job done.

I should probably expand a little on that last comment.

It searched all the folders I listed for comparison, then analysed then and found duplicates not just by name/tag but also for audio content eg "Lazy Town Theme Tune" and "Track 07" from different folders.

It then also lists the audio quality of each and you can tick which one to delete.

It was slow (relatively speaking to the blistering speed of the other demo software I tried) but went through 3gb in 5min.

Overall I managed to vape about 5gb of music and pix and a further 40gb of backups on my external drive.
