The only way to find out for sure mate is to use Vag-com, You didnt mention what engine your running either

I have an ASZ 130 TDI engine n have been plagued with the engine going into limp mode for ages. Vag com revealed a dodgy Air mass sensor and temperature sensor all seems well now for me

Important notes

Only use a genuine BOSCH Air mass there sods for going down but the non genuine items are even worse

Dont believe these articles you read online about coked up turbos on ASZ engines although the Boost solenoid is a common fault it doesn't mean you need to fork out for a new turbo

Im not a mechanic but all this info has come from a VAG specialist and iv used him for years

Hope this helps

hi m8

thanks for the reply i have the 110 bhp engine, ive tried another genuine bocsch air mass and it was still the same. vw midland reckons its my turbo but the other garage i took it to reckons the actuator has seized on the turbo. ive rang round about 20 different places and they all say that you cant buy the actuator on its own, and to be honest im at the end of wits now m8 i just wish there was some where that could help me out. ive heard peeps on about vag-com but dont really know anything about it to be honest.

many thanks

pete

You can't buy the actuator on its own, but you could try a used one by buying a second hand turbo.

It's very unlikely that the actuator itself has seized (it opens the wastegate when the N75 valve tells it to by re-directing air from the turbo inlet pipe - vacuum does the rest).

Check all of your charge pipes (from the turbo to the intercooler then from the intercooler to the throttle body) - it sounds like you may have a split pipe.

As ever, it's very hard to diagnose anything remotely, so finding a VW specialist with VCDS will help you find out what the problem is.

hi guys

im still having probs with my mk4 gt tdi ive changed all the pipes from rubber hoses from the turbo to the intercooler and from the intercooler to the turbo. had a diagnostic and its came up with somthing about my exhaust system and was told by the chap that i was probs the throttle body full of **** so ive cleaned that and still no good the fault code it came up with was p1114 and g70 i think do these codes ring any bells with any 1 as i say ive already tried ca genuine bosch MAF and it was still the same ive also tried unplugging the MAF to see if it runs any different and it runs the same any more ideas?

many many thanks in advance

pete
