burble
I'd already planned on asking Craig along for a drive I've had a chat with Ed @ APS and I'm going to email over to him an itemised list of the invoice so that they can see exactly what parts were ordered then I'm going over Thursday next week for them to check it out for me. cruiser647
Good news! That is actually great service by the garage in getting it done so quickly (hopefully, not too quickly........)
steelwind101
Its very easy to set a low MPG in the Prius, exhaust the battery and drive the Atkinson cycle hard and you will see a poor return on fuel used. The point being that when driven normally they have the potential to return a strong MPG. My MPG in London is acutally up by a couple of MPG to an average of 66.X on Shell standard. Which i do think suits the engine better.

burble
I've got my R32 back and it feels absolutely spot on. I'm a fussy sod about my car at the best of times but even more so right now.
cruiser647
Excellent! Did they hand you a silver platter with matey's head on it? Have you got your list of parts and job sheet? Did they wash and polish it? (the car that is!)
Scotty
Good news Presumably you'd slowed enough not to have flat spotted your tyres?

Excellent news, i'm sure a couple of A and B road blasts will help restore your confidence in it. I'm sure they'd of put their best grease monkeys on the job this time round. Did they wash and polish it? (the car that is!) No platter unfortunately but there were many, many apologies. I've got a copy of the provisional invoice but no mention of the exact parts. I'm told one will be forwarded to me. The car is looking very shiny, they've even cleaned the interior which was a bit dusty when I left it. burble
Presumably you'd slowed enough not to have flat spotted your tyres? Nope, the tyres were knackered and they've been replaced at VW's expense.

I'm going out to dinner with some friends and that'll necessitate using some nice A and B roads Apparently they had the workshop manager double checking everything that was done. Cuprabob
Glad to hear you got it sorted so quickly. Did the garage explain exactly what caused the failure?
burble
No, I'm told that they don't yet know. They'll be stripping down the diff to have a look and will let me know.

I can't get my ahead around why they would drain the diff oil. If it had been leaking you would have noticed. Based on the "excellent" service you got, no questions asked, it does come across as if they think they are liable. Hope it's all sorted now

Based on the "excellent" service you got, no questions asked, it does come across as if they think they are liable. Hope it's all sorted now I honestly believe I would have noticed. There's no oil on the drive and I saw no signs of leaking or damage to the diff casing when I looked on Saturday. My belief is that they're to blame and even though I've got the car back and seemingly fixed properly (I'll reserve final judgement until APS have had a look) I won't let anyone at VW or the dealership try to brush this under the carpet. This evening I had an 80 mile round trip and it does indeed feel good. I was a bit taken back by it being so front end heavy but it dawned on me that it is currently using a stock Haldex controller rather then the performance controller I had fitted. burble
One thing I forgot to mention is that while I was standing by the side of the M6 waiting for the RAC to arrive, not one of the 6 lots of traffic wombles that drove by stopped. Cnuts.

Cnuts. Oh. On my commute, whenever I see a car on the hard shoulder, I usually see a traffic bod either with them, or reversing away if all is presumably OK  Where's Black Rat & Sponge when you need them......... DHA
Have myself witnessed a number of the HA vehicles driving past cars stranded on the M25 hard shoulder, surely they cant all be en-route to another problem??
