healthandsafety Posted May 27, 2010 Report Share Posted May 27, 2010 Hi guys , looking for advice!! ive seen a 2008 cooper s at a mini dealer place i like , but the spec on tech information for the fuel is saying 45 mpg on combined miles . Any one give me a good idea what the cost of the fuel is like on cooper s , some say that the older cooper s was bad on petrol and the newer ones are better? many thanks for your help. my car does just over 310miles on £45 round town . Andy_Bangle Posted May 28, 2010 Report Share Posted May 28, 2010 My R53 Cooper S only gets c.22mpg, but then again it isn't exactly standard. Average mpg for the R53 is c.30mpg depending on your driving style and the traffic. With the later R56 which your looking at 40mpg is achievable but again, depending on driving style / location you are looking closer 35mpg. BTW, MINI2 is an American website so most of the mpg's quoted will be in american and not imperial. m4ttm4son Posted May 28, 2010 Report Share Posted May 28, 2010 My mum had the earlier version and it wasn't too great on the mpg front, but it was a hoot. The newer version has a different engine with turbo instead of super charging so delivers (much) better mpg.
