Xenon Headlight Auto Adjustment

Hi All,

I have noticed this evening that my left hand light is lower than the right hand headlight. The car is an 2003 53 plate A3 2.0 tdi. Every time i start the car up the car lowers the lights and then brings them back up to the same level. I understand this is the auto adjustment procedure for this type of A3 and other Audi models. But today as i say the left just isnt moving. The right hand headlight drops down to the same level as the left hand light but then return to the upper position but the left doesnt move anywhere. There are no warning lights etc on the car.

Can anybody give me any tips or pointers on areas i can check on the car myself before i have to resort to a garage or Audi dealer.
