aj84
Hi all, Had a rather incident where I unlocked the boot (auto opening), put my bag in the back with the key on the bag...shut the boot and it locked it. Now in the past, I'm sure there has been a delay before it actually locks as I could normally re-open the boot within a few seconds. If not, maybe this alone was a fault. Audi is about a 2min walk from my workplace (where the car was) but their only help was to smash the window or order a key @ £500 and it would be here next week... Now this morning, I opened the boot, put my bag in and as I did this... I heard the car lock. The key was at this point on the floor away from anything just to be sure. What could be causing this? DanG
The one thing the dealer stressed to me when i picked mine up was the use of the boot opening key. if you use this function (mine is manual opening) by holding the centre key button, the car ONLY unlocks the boot, and automatically locks it again when the boot is closed. I remarked that it was more than a tad dangerous and vowed never to use it. Only option for me would be a cab home to retrieve the spare key.... Andy_Bangle
No, that can't be right. 500 quid? You can get in an Audi for a lot less (500 quid less) that by shorting out the central locking the alarm will still go off but hey, you've got the key. What about the spare key? or plastic one? also if you have the original plastic strip/sticker that came with the keys from new its a lot cheaper and quicker to order a replacement. None of the points above are much use to now as you've been fecked over by the stealer

stig414
I had issues like that once or twice, what car is it? Does it have advanced key or auto boot open if saloon, or electric boot if avant? I had to have software update to remedy stuff like this, but that was 2 years ago mate. cruiser647
Simple solution is to hold your key or stick it back in your pocket after unlocking........ RAC/AA might have been able to help get in?
