Audi a3 2007 headlamp fuse position needed please

Hi i cant seem to find the fuse for the headlamps on my a3, theres no listing in the owners hand book, basically i'm putting 100 watt bulbs into my car and they need a 20 amp fuse for them to work safely, does anyone know if they come with a 20 amp fuse or are they the normal 15 amp like mose cars? thanks:confused:

Sorry, unable to help on this, But i would expect there to be 2 fuses. Usually for safety reasons they split the circuits so they don't both go out if one fuse blows.

That aside have you considered...

1. If your in the UK,100W lamps will be illegal.

2. If you uprate the fuse(s) is the wiring, switchgear, relays, bulbholders, headlight assemblies themselves rated to take the extra current and heat without causing a fire.

To be legal for road use all bulbs fitted to a car must be E-marked, and 100W bulbs are NOT E-marked so if you fit them then using you car on the road is illegal.

Thanks for your comments, So whats the difference with the HID lights then because their just as bright if not brighter?

HID lights have to be fitted with self levelling to be legal - to avoid the glare problem.

HID or xenon lamps are actually a lower wattage, at 35w.

They just create a high lumen output. at a colour range closer to daylight. 4400 Kelvin.
