MattS3
Can I ask what airport you flew into at Milan? EasyJet shows 2 and I want to make sure I get the right one! Cheers Matt
burble
If it's a RyanAir flight then it didn't go to Milan, it went to Bergamo which is about an hour to the east of the city.
MattS3
ah ha, note to self......read the first few lines of the initial post. Thanks Burble, lord only knows why I thought it Easyjet. Matt
Mook
Yes, it was Bergamo. Funny as feck that three of the people who turned up had sorted out their hire car via Easycar. From Milan. Airport. We didn't laugh. Honest...
DazzerVR6
Ah hem! Have you seen the tiny bit in Sept Evo about this trip? Ok, so the the full 2000 words got cut to just 200 but it is there. Let's see if we can get Rich's Jag roadtrip to Norway in Oct edition. My fave line " the last time anything from Brown’s lane last crossed the Ruhr at these speeds it was being pursued by Messerschmitts" Funny and nicely jingoistic; but let it lie Duisburg with the WWII gags or else we'll never blag any Porkers! Omi
Retouched a few of the snaps from this trip... All from a point/squirt cam, so no NEFs. Hope you enjoy, feel free to ladle praise or comments my way! The Italian Thingumybob...

MattS3
Ha ha, yep we got back Friday evening (2 video cameras captured the action!) We did a small pass from Stelvio into Switzerland the first afternoon, then stayed the first night at a hotel at the top of the pass itself. We then went up and down the north side 2 times on the Thursday morning before driving back down the pass from the previous day, into Switzerland, driving along beautiful scenic road which went through St Moritz on our way to Milan. We then had a night in Milan, before going to Monza F1 circuit on Friday. There was F2 and GT cars taking part in free practice for the race at the weekend. That was a very pleasant surprise and really helped round off the whole trip. We then caught the 17:20 flight back to Stansted. An exceptional 3 days away, all my fellow travellers were thanking me for sorting it all out, telling me it was the best car related trip they had ever done. (that list includes several Ring trips as well) Many thanks for posting your original write up, it was the whole basis for my planning the trip. It was also bloody good value too. MattS3
Yep, will keep checking your site for more ideas. I've already done the flying to the ring thing 3 times and a banger rally to Rome but have been researching either a 3 day Route Napoleon trip (flying into Nice and renting) or a trip to the Evo triangle in our own cars. Decisions, decisions!
theduisbergkid
a trip to the Evo triangle in our own cars. It's a bit of a trek from Norwich, plenty of good roads though, you've probably seen this Evo triangle story.
MattS3
Bit of a trek, but we could make a 2 day trip out of it. Deffo one for me and the guys to consider, Cheers Matt
