Thinking of selling

By the way, when Fergy says "immaculate' he really means "concours". It is quite exceptional.

It's hard to get that from the post. If that's the case I would say over 15K, although I tend to have a keen interest on what R32s sell for and at the moment and from what I can see quite a few people are struggling to sell theirs even by significantly dropping the price.

Well it would appear I'm wrong anyway form what Booster is saying. If trade in excellent condition is well below £15k then you were probably spot on.

As you know, it's worth what someone will pay for it. There are people out there that will pay extra to get the right car in the right condition so he may be lucky, if decides to sell.

Personally, I've kept my R32 much longer than any other car I have ever owned for 3 main reasons, I still really like the V6, it's worth more to me than what it's worth and last but not least VW kindly replaced the engine with a new one 4 months ago.

It's a sad fact that times are changing, 2 years back same car similar miles concourse condition would have sold very well, in demand and at a respectable level of deprication to new cost.

Now we are locked in to the recession, and doing 45 mpg, paying low ins and rfl are becoming major parts of the buy process. Knowing you can do 10k miles for a cost of either £3800 (r32) a year or £2100 a year (fiesta) just for fuel, serv, etc is a important consideration.

The market is shrinking, which is great for people wanting top dog cars, but not so good when you come to sell them.

Having seen a few years of posts from the owner I pretty sure that Fergie could sue me for slander if I suggested it was anything less than mint which it will be.

Well after much debate over the R32 replacement, Ive decided to keep it. It will be 3 in March and with just 15k miles its not even warmed up yet. The V6 noise is great (not as nice as the V8s Ive test driven mind), its still wearing its first shoes (5mm on fronts and 6 on the back) and I managed 25 MPG today...wooohooooo.

All I need to do is find someone who will give me a price on an extended warranty that will cover the DSG box so I can barter with VW when the time comes...any suggestions

Just before mine turned 3, I took out the VW extended all component warranty which was just over £600, which included VW assist and was unlimited miles. A slightly cheaper 15k annual limit policy was available as well. I did have to claim on it which resulted in a new engine getting firred due to a porous block. Go to teh VW website, look under warranty and call the numver and they will email the details to you, same day. I have heard they have revised the warranties now to include an excess but not sure as I didn't renew the warranty when it turbed 4, as it was not as good
