Suki Singh
Has anyone seen the LHD W12 d2 on pistonheads? is this the quickest factory d2 spec they did?
Wizbit
I didn't know they made a W12 D2??
SINGH
Yep, they didn't come to the UK though hence the left hand drive. Audi : AUDI A8 6.0 QUATTRO LWB 4DR TIP AUTO W12 ABT 500BHP Did you guys know they only made 105,136 D2 models worldwide, compared to 1.6 million C5 A6s. I think the UK only got 20k, rare indeed! shark_90
I don't see a supercharger and so there's no way it's 500hp
peterwong
silly boy, std w12 is 450hp and ABT are serious pro tuners
IT_S8
I'm pretty sure the D2 W12 varient was only (only!) 420 bhp.... The D3 was 450... Given the lack of scope for getting much more out the 4.2 V8's, I'd be surprised if that W12 is really chucking out 500.. an extra 80 without blowers sounds a bit steep to me even for ABT... I think there must be an element of rounding up going on, 500 seems a very round number
zip
Go on Ian - pop over and give it the once over, then give us the low-down.....it can't be far from you...you know you want to... Has A8 Parts got any LWB rear door skins available to fix that damage...?! Do the W12s use the same gearbox as the othr D2s? Zip
ainarssems
I would not be surprised at all considering that Bentley GT used same engine with 553 BHP and new one with re-engineered W12 engine 630 BHP. 420-500 is only 19% difference. Surely it can be done with some intake, exhaust, camshaft and head/valve changes accompanied with engine management an slightly increased rpm.
