Waylander
You forgot: No punch thrown! Do you reckon Haye will give me a shot at a title? I would do it for half the £5m Faudley got and I promise to throw at least 1 punch
NewNiceMrMe
It should be no shock to anyone. He should never have been in there but at least we'll not have to suffer him again. Billy, did you note what Haye said? He'd placed a bet, as had his family, to finish him in the 3rd. As I said early, he always knew he could take this fight whenever he wanted to - so much so that he made himself and his friends even more money out of it. He did admit that if Fraudley had gone for him he might have had to finish him earlier, but as it was the plan was executed to perfection. Feel for the people who were silly enough to pay £500+ for a seat in a reasonable position. That's why I think £15 was money well wasted. McGuigan said it all. No heart, delusional. He's been saying it for 4 years and he has been absolutely spot on. Ah well, bye bye Fraudley. Enjoy the money and having to live in hiding for fear of humiliation for the rest of your life. Frankly he should be ashamed that his wife and daughter will have to put up with jibes about him for years to come. The least he could have done was thought of them and thrown a few punches to go out with some credibility. But no, that's not Fraudleys style. Waylander
Was amused that he left the ring asap with no interview. His take on it will be amusing at least
NewNiceMrMe
He gave a short interview in which he was almost in tears. He was probably starting to think about the humiliation he has reaped on himself and his family. If I were him I'd be in the first plane out tonight and I'd never dare show my face here again. Or anywhere near a boxing ring for that matter.
Waylander
Missed it. I basically caught 5Live saying the fight was over and then saw the knockout on youtube but beeb kept saying he had left immediately with no interviews. What did he say? bazza_g
MrMe was spot on the fight was a money maker. That was an embarrassing effort from Harrison - he looked nothing short of petrified from the start and literally turned up only to collect his retirement cash Some of the communication between the fighters made it almost look like Haye was letting Harrison prepare for "the end" - I missed some of the post fight chat but it looks like Haye strung it along to the 3rd round because him and his mates had bet on the 3rd! (yes, that is legal in boxing!) £15 well spent? Hmmmmmm...
Mort
Just seen it on a torrent. At first I thought...hang on this looks like a bent fight... stuck with it to the third when I thought... Haye's had enough now and it was all over. The fact he had a bet on makes sense now. It could have ended in the first minute of the 1st. Don't think I've ever seen such a mismatch. Looking forward to seeing the Manny Pacquiao v Antonio Margarito (even though I know the result). ... All this business about them being mates but having a huge bust-up etc. I am starting to wonder if it was a favor by an old friend to get one last pay day - especially with Haye planning to retire next year as well anyway
NewNiceMrMe
No, it wasn't a favour. Haye is always like that after he's won. He doesn't bear a grudge because he knows it is futile once the PR has worked. Pacman showed Harrison what a fighter is last night. His performance was epic, absolutely epic. How many fighters gesture to a referee to put their opponents out of their misery and then actively pull their punches in the last few rounds because they don't want to cause serious harm? Simply astonishing display. Magarito is a cheat though and he was his usual ungracious self when the only comment he paid Pac was about his speed. He's just a very dislikeable chap. As I was saying to Billy yesterday, Haye was always going to stop this fight whenever he wanted. Never mind picking a round, he could have picked the bloody minute last night. We just have to hope that sensible talks can take place with the K's now, because anything else is pointless. It won't help Haye to have another waste of time fight and the K's can't keep dragging people out of their graves to put on a show for a few minutes. I maintain that McGuigan has had it right all along. Harrison genuinely thinks he had what it takes, but he's delusional. He got a shot at the world title and threw one punch. If that isn't a sham, I don't know what it is. However, like McGuigan I do feel sorry for the guy - but for his mental state of mind more than anything. It is clear he needs a little help in respect of what is reality and what is dreamland.
billy2shots
The hate thing was built up to sell more tickets/ pay per view. You just have to see Hayes reaction after and him saying they will go out for a drink to build bridges. I think its a little rich though saying the Klitchko brothers only fight bums. The bums they are fighting are of a better quality than those carefully picked by Haye and Adam Booth. Your right MrMe no shock no suprise and no chance just like we all predicted an early TKO for Haye. The bet on the third sounds about right and probably suited both boxers with Harrison getting up to beat the count and showing a tiny bit of heart. This in my opinion is much more of a reality than Haye taking the fight to the later rounds just to entertain the viewers. Just a bit of fun now but if anyone has recorded the fight or watches the replay, pay close attention just before the knockdown. Harrison is covering up well after Haye has landed a few punches, Haye then stops throwing and Harrison drops his guard a little to make eye contact. The two men make eye contact and Haye gives a little nod just before throwing a straight right through Harrisons lowered guard which leads to the knockdown. Now im not saying it was pre planned but looks a little suss. So harrison gets a nice big retirement pay off, Haye earns a wedge and has an easy title defence and who says heavy weight boxing is in bad shape. NewNiceMrMe
I don't buy the suspect knockdown. Not one bit. Haye backed off to pick his next shots and nodded at Fraudley to acknowledge he was still stood up and that there was more to come. It was 'yes, this is what it feels like' nod and everyone must surely have recognised that. I don't buy the conspiracy theory. Heavyweight boxing is in a bad way, yes. However, there is hopefully the chance to rectify that and let's just hope it happens. Haye and K Brothers can't not do it now. They'd all lose too much credibility. billy2shots
What a year it would be if Haye took on one or both the brothers and Pacman and Mayweather get it on. The Mani - Mayweather fight would be a classic to end all classics. Sadly i dont think it will ever happen.
