Trolley jack points on B7

Whats wrong with the standard one? I changed the wheels god knows how many times on my old A4 with no problems using the standard one?

Seriously though, if you're planning on doing some work on the car and cant even work out when to put the jack you really shouldn't be working on it in the first place... Either use the jacking point on the sills which is marked with a cutout in the sill lip or somewhere near a suspension mount/one of the main crossbeams.

I think that's a bit harsh.

The standard jack is not as easy to use as a trolley jack so I totally agree on it's use (plus there's less chance of dragging your knuckles across the ground when winding it!). The OEM jack is also made with some plastic components and it's really designed for emergency use so using it a lot probably isn't a good idea.

People lifted the B6 and B7 on various parts underneath and some even suggested that the sills were only designed to support the car for one wheel in the air. I actually made a small wooden insert for my trolley jack cup so that I could lift on the sills. They make proper ones but I only ever found them in the US and shipping was silly for some reason.

There was even this thread with various suggestions :

The other suggestion I've seen elsewhere is to fit the RS4 jacking points to your car but I'm not sure if this related to B5 or B7 RS4.
