Clembo
Hello all I'm currently looking to change my company car which is currently an A3 Sportback (2.0TDI Sline). Apart from possibly going for another Sportback, my works car list also has a 320d EfficentDynamics. Does anyone here own or have any experience of this model? Many thanks
Mook
I hired a 320d ED in Germany for three days last year and I'd take on any day over an A3 or an A4. It's a much better car overall. Interiors are a personal preference, but in terms of handling, performance, economy, residuals etc.
CarMad
320D ED is a cracking car, plenty of power and great economy and it handles very well. But check what rates you get for the standard car as its not that different economy wise and the spec of the SE or specials that they have going at the moment are often an overall better bet. eldavo69
M Sport + is a very good offer at the moment. Although "ED" always makes me giggle!
Tarmac_Terrorist
I've currently got a 320d M Sport (non-ED model) as a company car. Overall it's quite a nice car - does everything fairly well. Driving like Miss Daisy I can achieve 48mpg but 45-46 seems to be the norm. I decided against the ED model as it robbed it of some bhp. I find it very punchy if perhaps a little inflexible in lower gears which makes for tiresome urban driving. Handling is good but it does feel a bit heavy to chuck around. The stop/start technology is a complete pain in the ass as the clutch is long and not particualrly light. This means you want to chuck it in neutral at the lights and let the clutch out to rest your leg which in turn stops the engine. It never starts quick enough for a swift getaway imo. I switch it off whenever I rememer.
