garcon magnifique
Not convinced of the need for a monster diesel when you they can get well over 300bhp form the 35d/40d 3.0 twin turbo unit. Strikes me one of the silliest engines currently available is the V12 diesel you can spec in the Q7. Oodles of torque yes, but with that kind of consumption wouldn't you rather have a large capacity petrol unit?
SINGH
I saw that Q7 V12 TDI beat a mapped 335 D down a dragstrip a few weeks ago, I have to say, I was surprised. I think the craziest thing about it though, is the price, it's over £100k.
NewNiceMrMe
A 5.0 diesel surprises me. Especially with the 4.0 diesel being available. Strange.

Probably Tony and his wife from RS246, they clocked quickest diesel of the day funnily enough with 900+ lb ft!
Biscuits
A 5.0 diesel surprises me. Especially with the 4.0 diesel being available. Strange. My German is a bit rusty, but the 30d & 40d are both 3.0 litre six cylinder turbo diesels. 30d has one turbo and 250bhp, 40d has two turbos and 300bhp. The 50d mentioned has 350bhp and three turbo's ! They are looking at "Tri-Turbo's" for the new M3 engine... 3.0 litre tri-turbo :D
