Tipex
You need to check the alternator, and then check if anything is drawing current when the car is switched off, a new CD player or something is the normal culprit, usually not wired correctly. Tipex
You'd need a multimeter, and preferably someone who knows what do do with it!

Mook
Mate, just wheel it to a garage or call out a recovery company and get them to look at it, rather than stabbing wildly in the dark. Quite happy to try and help, but that really is your best option. The cables will be getting warm because the starter draws a lot of current.
