fizzbitt
Forgot to mention this at the time but a couple of weeks back during my lunch i spotted this coming out of Bradford City centre. Was crawling up behind us while we were walking and heard a beefy engine but when i looked round i couldn't spot anything. Only when it came up beside me i saw a SRT8 badge on the wing and then saw the 2 huge centre pipes and this thing sounded amazing! A quick look shows that the previous year 2006 one was tested and these were the results... A road test of the 2006 model by Road & Track magazine yielded a 0 to 60 mph time of 4.6 seconds and a quarter mile dragstrip of 13.2 seconds at 104.1 miles per hour To put that into perspective my MR2 Turbo running 280bhp could hit 60 in 5 seconds dead and managed a 13.5 @ 101 mph! lol
garcon magnifique
Same hemi V8 that goes in the 300C SRT8, around 420bhp. I suspect it's a tad thirsty.
fizzbitt
Indeed. 6.1L V8 and something that big = buying shares in Shell. lol Also on the same day i saw a W12 A8 as well which i have never seen on the roads before.
Andy_Bangle
The 2012 Jeep STR is quite a bargain, $60k, if they're your fing. The base v8 470bhp engine can be tuned to over 800 with the aid of a supercharger, there are lots of vids on youtube of them eating all kinds of exotic cars on the drag strip, so as long as there're no bends..... garcon magnifique
It's not an AMG ML substitute though. No, but in much the same way as the Vx/Holden VXR8, it is an AMG for less than half the price.
Andy_Bangle
it is an AMG for less than half the price. Exactly!
SiT
Strangely remember one of these absolutely tearing past me on the A69 on-route to Carlisle a couple of years back, was actually stunned to be honest and the noise was sublime - god i need a V8
cruiser647
No, but in much the same way as the Vx/Holden VXR8, it is an AMG for less than half the price. I see your point, however the Vx/Holden VXR8s etc are still a league ahead of this and the other SRT8 Chrysler offerings.
