Sky+ HD box problem - Help needed.

Hi all,

Just a minor problem for any sky box experts on here that has just started happening on our Sky+ HD box in the past few weeks.

For some reason and on one channel it seems only the information bar (now and next etc) at the bottom screen won't go away. If you press backup it goes but then three seconds later comes back up again!? The only channel it seems to happen on is CBeebies (which is the one channel on most of the fecking day!) Also it doesn't happen all the time and no pattern that I've noticed to when it is going to happen.

I've tried turning the box off at the plug etc, hiding the remote in case thats sending out a signal or something but no joy. Not tried a box reset as too much stuff on Sky+ waiting to be watched and saved for the kids so don't really want to have to do a reset if possible.

Any ideas would be greatly appriciated!

Cheers.

BS.

1 of my boxes is doing the same on premiere 1 just change channel up then down seems to sort it, its probably a clitch in the firmware sky are always changing the software and fecking things up i remember a few years ago before sky plus was so popular they sent new firmware to all the set top boxes and killed thousands and then charged out of warranty customers for a service call to change them they never owned up about it but i was an engineer at the time and we all new it

My box does it occasionally, and as mentioned, changing channel, then changing back sorts it, but it doesn't happen very often, maybe once every 4 or 5 months.

Main issue I'm having currently, is that the box has become incredibly slow and unresponsive, you press a button on the remote, and nothing happens, so you press it again, still nothing, eventually, it does whatever you pressed about 20 times.

Time to ring Sky and get a new box I think, if they don't play ball, will just cancel.
