News_Stig
Coming to an F1 track near you (maybe)! Mercedes' AMG engineers are close to signing off the SLS63 AMG Black Series. Caught here undergoing a final round of testing, the powered-up gullwing coupé is set to crown the SLS line-up early next year following its unveiling at the Paris motor show in September. Visual changes include reworked front and rear ends for improved aero efficiency, a large rear spoiler and four trapezoidal exhaust pipes instead of the usual two. Power comes from the standard car’s 6.2-litre V8, tuned to produce around 650 bhp. A beefed-up seven-speed, dual-clutch transaxle sends power to the rear wheels. A reworked chassis includes wider tracks, a lower ride height, additional camber, adjustable dampers, firmer springs, redimensioned anti-roll bars and revised bushes. Further work has been carried out on the hydraulic steering and braking system.
