cruiser647
Had to jump start the wife's A6 yesterday. All was well afterwards, went for along drive to charge the battery. This morning, she has the ESP light on. I have heard this is due to the jump start. Any other reasons? Is it also indicative of a dying battery? She only usually does very short trips to work and then the occasional long one every 3 or 4 weeks. Just looked at the price of new batteries.......... shark_90
A battery shouldn't be that expensive. ESP light could be on for a hundred reasons (not always ESP or ABS related), a fault code scan is the only way to know and it's probably just a code to report the undervoltage condition. cruiser647
Nothing to worry about then - hopefully............. That is the only thing that has happened. Will look around for a battery, but the are long and thin, not the typical square jobs. (as if you didn't know! )

Cuprabob
It has been known for some VAG cars when the battery is disconnected and then reconnected that the ESP light comes on but goes out after being driven for a little while. Something to do with the signal from the steering angle sensor.
