stooH
Does anyone know if it's possible to register a domain name without your own personal details? If I enter a fake address are there all kinds of problems associated with doing that? I think everything who registers a website gets sent to whois but I don't want my personal details on it if possible. Any help appreciated. PS Nothing sinister just for an extension of an ongoing online joke...
Andy_Bangle
Most domain reg co's offer this as an extra service, for example: www.domainsbyproxy.com which is operated by Go Daddy
NewNiceMrMe
Don't go near GoDaddy. They're an absolute nightmare to get domains off if you ever want to transfer, especially where domains with Privacy options on are concerned. Nearly everyone will offer you WHOIS Privacy for an annual fee, usually anywhere between £5-10 per annum on top of the domain registration and renewal costs. On a .co.uk domain, for a 2 year registration with 2 years of WHOIS Privacy included, 123Reg will charge you £16.96 + VAT (and £9.98 of that is the domain privacy).
