News_Stig
The 3 goes GT and here are some more pictures and information. Anybody want one? And when will Audi & Mercedes follow suit? This is our best look yet at the new BMW 3 Series GT. For the first time, we can see the 3 Series GT’s full profile, with its steep front windscreen and hatch tailgate, which follows the design of the 5 Series GT. We can also see the shape of the lights and bootlid for the first time, with the tail-lights following the same styling and shape as the rest of the 3 Series saloon range, and a high, flat top to the bootlid. A version with more muscular wheelarches and a rear spoiler has also been seen in testing, which makes sense as the GT version will be an upmarket version of the new F30 3 Series and will include performance variants. The GT is expected to feature the 161 bhp 2.0-litre di esel from the 320d saloon, as well as the 241 bhp turbocharged four-cylinder petrol from t he 328i and the six-cylinder twin-turbo petrol from the 335i. The 3 Series GT will use the same platform as the 3 Series saloon, which has been built to accomodate rear and four-wheel drive in both right and left-hand drive. While BMW says that no decision has been made as to which versions will be offered in the UK, an all-wheel-drive Audi A4 Allroad rival is a possibility. Prices for the 3 Series GT are expected to start from around £33,000, when the new car arrives in showrooms in late 2013.
