Wenger looses his cool at press conference.

Not sure the journo understood what Wenger was on about.

I like angry Arsene. Hopefully the players will be angry tomorrow...

The problem with that is, just like their manager the Arsenal players tend to do petulant angry instead of focussed angry. If they go out there angry tomorrow they'll just end up with 9 men and lose more heavily.

Time he retired back to France.

You can take your pick - look at the first half of his Arsenal career and he's a legend, look at the second half and he's an abject failure. The longer he stays, the more emphasis is placed on the second half.

:roflmao: Abject failure is a bit harsh. He's done better than every other manager has done with the resources that were available to him +++

The only problem started recently when the resources have become much more available and not being fully utilised. The club/ board/ owners have it too good and are enjoying the money too much to push the football side of things now.

I would describe no trophies in 9 years as abject failure given the resources that should be available to him. I'm not even sure those resources are being made available to him now, at least not to the extent they should be. So there is certainly blame at board level.

However I just think it's time for a change. The slog of the last few years without silverware, slowly dropping from contenders to fighting for top four, has taken its toll.

Arsenal are potentially the richest club in the country, and yet in recent years they've dropped to the third most successful club in London.

The trouble is that they aren't. Until the new deal struck this year with Emirates and the new money from Sky, Arsenal have had to break even with transfer business. This will be the first year that they will be in profit before taking into account transfers.

The only other model that is working is ManU's. They are the biggest marketing juggernaut in English football by a long way and they can keep it up by winning stuff and by being one of the biggest football brands in the World.

Something needs to be done at Arsenal. This summer they need to spend this money they have on some proper signings, replace the manager with someone suitable, or make some changes in the hierarchy. 1/3 will be good, 3/3 would be amazing. None are likely.

Is that the case? I'm genuinely surprised if it is. My understanding was that he'd basically been selling players off to help pay off the stadium, this would then lead to them being debt free with a healthy income when the FFP rules came in. I've heard rumours that whilst they don't pay absolute top whack to their stars they've got a lot of dross on very high salaries though so it could be the case.
