theduisbergkid
There is no doubting the capabilities of new Porsches, they are aspirational machines for many, and technically accomplished of course, but we don’t get paid much to write this twaddle and they remain just out of budget. We love their older stuff but are Porsche’s latest cars still designed with the likes of us in mind ? The Panamera and Cayenne might have arab-appeal, but at s2b2 we prefer substance over style so when long-suffering friend of s2b2, Craig Porter, invited us down to Porsche Silverstone we wondered what he might be able to tempt us with. And if nothing else, we couldn’t look a gift Porsche in the mouth, could we ? (Sorry). The Porsche experience centre is an impressive place, they offer different driving experiences, in a purpose built facility next to the Silverstone track. All very shiny and corporate. Over a decent breakfast, including a bottle of water labelled “Porsche Human Performance Great Britain”, we got to meet our chaperones for the day. I think you can tell a petrolhead by their choice of wheels, not their company supplied car, but the thing they’ve spent their own money on. The Porsche people we were sat with included a Ducati rider, an Alfa-driver, and a man who believed that the answer to everything was a Land Rover. No corporate claptrap, just intelligent and entertaining car chat, Porsche people are car-people after all. Then we were given some keys. Playtime ! continued here with pics, a Lisa Riley gag, and some sideways stuff... Edited March 1, 2013 by theduisbergkid
Tipex
More new stuff? That's not the S2B2 way, I'm disgusted, is it really worth reading the rest?
