NewNiceMrMe Posted June 13, 2013 Report Share Posted June 13, 2013 I use Sky Go Extra + (stupid name if ever there was one) on my iPad. Extra also means you can run the Sky Go app on 4 devices, instead of the standard two. So all four of us have it on our iPads and it makes long journeys in the car or on a plane/train very easy. That gives me access to everything (except recordings made on the box) and that means I can download anything to the iPad to watch later (on a flight, for example). That's very cool. I've not got these two items out of their boxes yet (I'll take pictures and show you the difference cos I still don't know why I've had 2 boxes). But why of why of why does it need to be connected to a phone line to use Sky Store? Surely they can do authentication over the web? So annoying because the phone line is other side of the house and there's absolutely no way I'm letting sky stick a load of metal tacks in my wall and up my door frames. They had done that in old house and it looked horrid. What I do with mine is to have a length of bt cable plugged into the back of the skybox all the time. Then when I want to buy a movie I just unroll it, plug it in and buy the movie. Wait 1 minute, let it go through and then unplug it and watch the film. Easy. The buggers were going to plant it in the most convenient location for them and the engineer wasn't too chuffed when I said "No, here". Waylander Posted June 13, 2013 Author Report Share Posted June 13, 2013 At the old house I got Sky to run an external telephone wire from the master socket in the hallway in the front of the house to the back rear room where the sky box was - they did it no fuss.
