bazza_g
Thank you to Chris Evans for bringing his 4 day old LaFerrari to Supercar Event today - helping me complete my holy trinity of hypercar spots added to the P1 on the road to Staines and the 918 in Las Vegas

Andrew
So, why do we suppose Evans was picked for a LaF? Don't you have to have bought all of the special editions and a raft of new models too. Or, is that all just BS, which I guess we could have all assumed anyway. What was it like in the flesh?
CarMad
He rather likes Ferraris and has a large collections so a LaFerrari seems to fit well. 250GT SWB, a 250 GT Lusso, a 275 GTB quad cam, a 288 GTO, a 308GTS, an F40, a 246 Dino, long and short wheelbase California Spiders (a green one and the black ex-Coburn car), a 599, and a new California. One was 12Million so he doesn't mind investing a little in the collection either.

bazza_g
He reportedly sold his Aperta after just a week so there were some raised eyebrows when he got such an early LaFerrari. To best of my knowledge the prerequisites for a LaFerrari were min of 5 new cars purchased and min of 5 in current collection, pretty sure Mr Evans fits comfortably in that category. Just wait until Jay Kay's car hits the headlines, it's a bit special Edit: it's already out! http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1092680_meet-the-green-ferrari-laferrari-of-jamiroquais-jay-kay
Andrew
Oh, thought old cars bought at auction didn't count. They don't make Ferrari any money do they. Must Google Aperta.
garcon magnifique
He's a great publicist for them though. And I'm sure he's not above begging.
jimdiesel
He buys plenty of the modern stuff. It just does not get talked about, like his classics.
Rachel
. Chris bought both an Aperta and a 599GTO. His profile fits exactly with what Ferrari outlined. Why did he sell one? Too similar in looks, driving, pose value? I wish I'd known, he could have permanently lent me one down here...

jimdiesel
599 with a removable roof and a GTO donkey. Similar in concept to the 550 Barchetta but much more bespoke. Edited June 23, 2014 by jimdiesel

Should have clarified, thats any 5 new and any 5 in current collection - his car collection is much more extensive than the auction highlights that filter through the press What the hell is an Aperta? 599 SA Aperta, super rare top down special edition of the 599 GTO (80 cars)
bazza_g
What was it like in the flesh? Compact, purposeful and beautiful - the paintwork looked like you can put your hand IN it, never seen that on a red car, or another Fezza for that matter. Then there was the way it moved, off the mark and acellerating down the 'near' straight it picked up pace visibily different from anything else present (458 speciale, s/c Atoms, Aventadors, 12C's etc) - I'm not sure if CE was really wringing it out or what sort of running in period the car has (if it has one?!) - flip me its fast
