garcon magnifique
They're all doing their utmost to hand it to Hamilton aren't they? *Sigh* At least the Scuderia Ferrari PR twitter account is good for comedy value. I wonder if they've lodged a formal complaint to find the magnet in Max's car?

Andy_Bangle
Toro Rosso has elected to "rest" Daniil Kvyat for the next few races, although they stressed "he remains part of the Red Bull family", replacing him with the GP2 champ Pierre Gasly (Jr Honda driver). I bet Kvyat has the full support of the team behind him ... although if you listen carefully I bet you can hear his 2018 contract being shredded Edited September 26, 2017 by Andy_Bangle
Andy_Bangle
The Russian Torpedo is back for the rest of the season following the news that Palmer will leave Renault after the Japanese Grand Prix, it’s been confirmed that Carlos Sainz Jr. will make an early switch to the team. He’ll leave Toro Rosso for and drive for Renault from the United States GP onwards ahead of his full season for the team in 2018.

garcon magnifique
1 minute ago, E-bmw said: Max Verstappen....... Discuss? There may be som ekind of argument for giving the place back under the current rules, but the penalty point on his licence is a fcuking insult. F1 is now the same pathetic manufactured spectacle as BTCC. Unfathomably inconsistent stewards' decisions, ignoring genuinely bad driving, penalising anyone who dares to attempt an overtake, made worse by ridiculous circuits with acres of tarmac run off that should be grass, gravel or barriers. E-bmw
The issue I have with the penalty has been well talked about over the years. If the rule is keep all 4 wheels on circuit at all times then apply it. No grey areas. Kimi did move, Max did respond, Max went off track, they didn't crash, Kimi didn't complain, no penalty UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES. You cannot have a rule that basically says "remain on track, if you leave & gain an advantage you will get a penalty" because then you need someone to define "gain an advantage" and that person (by definition) wasn't there in the car making that decision. During that race everyone went off track & by virtue of the fact that there wasn't gravel there, they all gained an advantage, otherwise they would have been beached in the kitty litter. Cuprabob
Was the 1 point on his license not for what he said after the race?
garcon magnifique
No idea. Did I read somewhere he called the steward an idiot? How many points should Vettel be on, then? In fact on that basis, I'd give Hamilton a few points just for being a tiresome tw4t.
Cuprabob
Not only did he call the steward an idiot, he used a non PC term as well relating to people with Down Syndrome. Maybe he thought the Steward was from Mongolia? If that wasn't enough he said he hoped no one would turn up to the race next year Some would would say he might have got off lightly with one point... Vettel has had quite a few points on his licence this year. Edited October 23, 2017 by Cuprabob
CarMad
It was a cracking overtake and we need more of that not less its racing for goodness sake. Was he off the edge of the circuit yes, was the mover started to overtake off the circuit, no; there were stronger moves that went un-punished. However what he said afterwards was rather unfortunate and the impetuousness of youth took the better of him on this occasion, he will learn and he will get better. Nobody is amazing on day one on all fronts and neither do we want them to be. We need more rough diamond that aren't polished on all fronts not less all IMHO.
