NNS32
Apologies for bringing up the leather seat issue again on a headlamp protector thread - I know you guys frown about this sort of behaviour !! [/ QUOTE ] It's a fair point GTi Fly and one that I've tried to gently address (along with others) to get the forum back on 'track' so to speak.....however if people have an issue with their car/dealer etc then they should still be able to discuss! Have just posted a new thread that I hope is more in line with what we all want to hear (at least some of the time!). JT

[/ QUOTE ] These issues might seem slight to those of you who have few responsibilities & more money than sense in life. Just wait until the day you are made redundant & every penny counts. I've been retired for 7 years & the pleasure my 32 gives me is incalcuable. This forum is worth it's weight in gold for the information transfer between enthusiasts. Ignorant & deliberately inflammatory comments from the likes of "GTi Fly" & "Chris32" - Little boys with too much spare cash, I suspect(?) only serve to drive people away from these forums. I'm gone. cerbera
C'mon Mikey, everyone's obviously entitled to their own opinion and I guess that everyone expects/hopes for something slightly different from a forum such as this.... Don't go mate, as your recent input has been very helpful and would definitely be missed! What we're striving for is a balance between 'positive' and 'negative' issues/discussions re the car to try and keep everyone happy and posting...sometimes not easy when there are serious issues or concerns to be aired! If I sometimes appear somewhat flippant re certain issues, then you need to meet me, as I get just as agitated as the next person when a minor rattle or imperfection crops up with the car! GTi Fly & ChrisR32, I'm sure ( ) don't mean to be 'inflammatory' in thier comments (well, not all the time ), they obviously just miss some of the more 'fun' posts that used to grace this forum.......and I can't blame them to a large extent. I totally agree that posts discussing things such as the protectors and leather are valid, but perhaps some recent other posts are verging on the 'slightly excessive'..... C'mon peeps, at the end of the day we're all posting on here for the same reasons - we have an R32 and generally love it! Let's feel some Friday love! It was SK i was agreeing with purely in saying that i enjoy the vroom vroom stories more!! ChrisR32
Just a thought - If we put our names down as lodging a formal complaint re the leather issue and 'VW' read this forum where people are openly admitting to having mods carried out, do you think they might take a strong stance when warranty work is required? I don't know how this works and i'm not trying to cause any disharmony. I am merely voicing a question. Would you have to submit your name and reg with the complaint? Would VW tie this info in to their database?
JaffaCake
It's a possibility, but I'm not sure even a Miltek can turn leather into plastic. ChrisR32 - You have PM

Your remarks only serve to compound evidence that YOU yourself are mindless and infact, shoot from the mouth before thinking. It is the likes of you that drive forums like this into the wrong direction. If u wanna mindlessly slag people off, do us a favour and go down to the local pub. [/ QUOTE ] At no stage whatsoever did I think GTi_Fly was refering to anyone/body/thing but VAG themselves. With two concerns on the R32 springing up so far this March, it is understandable that the R32 board has dropped it's tempo slightly. The seat farce is shocking, nothing less, and VW will pay the price of abusing customers who bought what is the fastest VW (the Phaeton is slower, yeah?). I am not an R32 owner but read and learn from all the Tyresmoke mini-foums. Guys and girls, club together, hang in there. Lots of collective voices attacking VW is much better than indivual complaints! Customers deserve to pull VWs pants down for a change, instead of the other way around. shao_khan
I must say Mikey that I think Chris was agreeing with ME and I was replying to Mr Flies comments. Now I lost as much as anyone else on (non)leather seats - infact perhaps more if you were aware of circumstances, but I personally need to make light of these things, because if I took them all to hear then I would have real stress and anxiety issues which I cant be bothered with. As for the splashing the cash, I Think that is unfounded, the R32 was only my 19th car and I am 34 so that is 17 years of driving for which I work for every one of them and certainly do not have cash to splash. Riz
Guys Guys Guys lets relax..... im so p@ssed off with VAG but i WILL NOT let them ruin the rep of the R32 which in my eyes is one very nice little car. Sometimes opinions clash on forums and i admit myself i have been involved in a interstella net war but have learned to sometimes dismiss comments which may seem out of line towards me... i tend to keep a open mind about everything and everyone in life and live it to the best of my abilities. I may only be 23 but ive learned alot so far in life... life aint about fighting and arguing..... Group-Hug Eventhough i have been a part of this leather seat issue i too think that it does affect the smooth posting on the R32 forum..... im sure time will cure this and we will all being to post again.... alot of people are keeping quiet because VW are watching the forums and gathering any evidence against US! I hope to meet you all oneday in the future and put faces to names..... I hope everybody is ok... and wish you a good weekend. Riz
