Rich
I thought the passanger airbag switch was just for the FRONT airbag???
Drillslinger
I had assumed he meant passenger "Side" as in right or left, not the airbag located in the seat itself But I could be wrong

Scotty
Apparently the key switch and warning light can be retro-fitted by your dealer.
AudiSi
I tried to get the key switch retrofitted to my 1998 A3 1.8TS, apparently it cannot be done. The only way to disable it is by connecting to the VAG diagnostic computer. The stealers will then relieve you of cash to the value of half or full hours labour (up to about £75 + VAT) depending on your dealership.

Rich
This has actually got me thinking, is the side airbag (in the seat) just as dangerous when you have a child seat in the front?? I expect it still expends into the seating space?

[/ QUOTE ] It will encroach on the seat area, but not in a way that would effect a baby seat or a child sat in the seat. Just think about the physics of where the bags are coming from and the influence of an impact.
