Don't forget to clean your wind deflector!

Was giving Claudine a real thorough post France trip clean yesterday afternoon (had only washed her since and she needed the interior doing) and took the wind deflector out to clean around the back of the interior.

Whilst it was out I decided to just run a cloth over it.

Oh. My. God! EEK2.GIF

You would not believe the crap that came off the mesh! I suppose thinking about it logically, its very nature is to get in the way of the wind that whips over the top from the screen and funnels back so its going to be full of road dust and dirt, diesel fumes etc, and being black it doesn't show the dirt. But with every wipe the damp cloth was just black, it was absolutelty filthy! blush.gif

Never ocurred to me to clean it before... smashfreakB.gif

Black? EEK2.GIF

But they're supposed to be chrome originally, to go with the metallic surrounds and windscreen frame. You must have been given a second hand one. You'd better get back out there and keep scrubbing until it's back to silver. NONO3.GIF

You may have something there, it would have been a real piece of design and quality imagery for the wind deflector to have had an aluminium surround to match the the rest of the outside trim. 169144-ok.gif

Yeah, an aluminium framed wind deflector with black mesh would look fantastic! cool.gif

Or even better, the mesh colour coded to the paintwork, so on mine aluminium frame and dark blue mesh! notworthy.gif

I think you definitely have something there,do you mean colour coded to the interior or the body colour. I think my one will have to be coded to the blue interior but yours could look ool in Moro cool.gif.

Maybe Audi will take notice of the Idea. znaika.gif

Was thinking body colour, but interior colour would work on the right application, ie a pale grey mesh to go with a pale grey interior for example, but not sure a colour like Anis would work so well...

One of these aftermarket wind deflector companies needs to take this on board, I'd imagine there was a market if the price was sensible.
