Blinder m-06HP laser jammer ???

Have used the search facility off this fine website and read off a few users off this particular model off blinder laser jammer - m-06HP just wonder if anyone who has fitted one to there own car could offer any tips / advice regards fitting and more importantly results achieved ?? wink.gif

anyone real life tested one yet ?? wink.gif

while I realise that the m-06HP is an early model off jammer, it being replaced now by the likes off the m10 /m20 / m40 x-treme versions etc, does it offer any real protection against the latest laser speed trap vans ??

lastly !! have read off conflicting views on the m06 HP`s ability to give off an audible warning alert when fitted with an additional buzzer systmn, not 100 % convinced regards this thou because as far as I can see this model is designed to be constantly active unlike the later versions that waitt for a detected laser signal before giving off this alert, but then again it does have the white audio white like these later models so bit unsure ?? frown.gif

will fit an additional on/off switch when fitting my own one anyway, and will obviously switch off manualy when safety van tongue.gif is in view and speed has been adjusted accordingly smirk.gif

any comments, etc regards the above would certainly be most helpful !!

regards.

Joe, I fitted a Blinder M-06 to my R32 a month ago. Superb piece of kit! Saved my bacon twice in May. Dead easy fit. Lift the bonnet & pop the grille out (No tools needed) The two jamming heads will fit perfectly in the bottom section of the grille. You will have to cut away a small piece of plastic on both sides (I used an angle grinder!). Wire the negative (black) direct to the battery. The positive wire should be routed along the RH wing, following the bonnet release cable, into the cabin. Connect it to a switch & run a second wire back to the + on the battery.

The M-06 is actively jamming at all times when powered on. It does NOT have any indication that U have been illuminated so a Radar/Laser detector is also desiable. You need to know if a laser gun is on you so as to hit the brakes & turn the jammer off......... the_finger.gif

Jaffacake is correct but I don't see the relevance of his comment with regard to French (Russian, Mongolian, Swiss) laws!!! In the UK it is perfectly legal to sell, buy & install a laser jammer. Full stop.

The indistinction comes if you don't use the kit correctly. You can be prosecuted for "obstructing a police officer in the course of his duty". This happened last year & the guy was heavily fined. IMHO he was a pratt. Use your wits & switch the kit off & you won't get caught...........

HI mate, thanks so much for the info you kindly gave regards the blinder m-06HP, actually have one here just ready for final fitting, so your fitting suggestions will come in very handy !!!

also nice to know that they work 100%!! I take it you were targetted by the safety camera vans when last targetted ?? were you over the limit before stamping on the brakes shocked.gif !!!!!

was it deffinately your car they were targetting ?? also wonder just what radar / laser detector you are using this jammer in conjunction with mate ??

have a bel 980 myself which I know will work with laser guns obviously requiring your actual car to be the one they are aiming there laser gun at for the detector to alert you.

lastly !! not a big problem mate if not , but do you have any photos off your m-06HP installation ??

thats it, thanks again mate, much appreciatted,

joe

Joe, I was targetted by a "safety van" & a motorcycle copper. I was way over the limit but I can safely say that the mandatory 14 days have passed & no ticket. M0-6 is a super piece of kit but you must ensure that u wire it to an illuminated on/off switch. It doesn't use much power (400mamps I believe) & I have inadvertantly left it switched on in the garage overnight several times but the car has always started. As far as I am aware, the MO-6 is identical to the M-20, but without the audio. I run a Bel 745Sti. IMO the Bel products are the best "active" receivers on the planet. I don't know how to post photo's on TSN so if you PM me with your email address I'll be happy to send 4 pics of the jammer head positions & wiring.

Cheers,

Joe. Just a second thought: Both of the MO-6 heads have 2 receive diodes & 8 transmit diodes. The fact that they actually have a receive capability suggests that the units are not "active" (i.e. switched on at all times). The manual (leaflet - SIC) is not clear on this. If the jammer is illuminated & activates (ie jams) then I assume it does the same as the later versions & only jams for 5 seconds, then switches off. - I may be wrong & I will contact Blinder in Denmark to find out!

HI mikey, thanks again for your kind reply. have sent you a PM with my own e-mail add mate, and if you do find the time to e-mail me a couple off photos off your own installation, then that would be off great help and would certainly be much appreciatted.

regards the jamming device in this m-06HP model, as far as I was always led to believe there are no receiving diodes in this particular model, just 10 transmitting ones instead, but as mentioned in an earlier post off mine there is this white audio wire from the rear off the unit which is what the later m-10 /20 etc models have for there audible alert facility , so not 100 % sure on that ??!!

so you can maybe let me know if you get a true answer from Blinder themselves !!

notice that there is no indication off this white wire thou in the m-06HP`s supplied instruction manual, so certainly seems a bit confusing !!!!!!

the only thing I can think off there mikey is that all models off blinder outer casings are identical and its just the internals they change, so this white wire is intended for the later models ??

will let you know how I get on anyway mate !!

thanks again,

joe

The thing is with these things, if plod is at the top of a motorway slip road / m'way services slip road then the radar will be hitting the back of your car and not the front. I assume you then need to run wiring for a rear end sensor too? Not so easy to make a stealthy installation at the rear of mant cars either.

There are lots of unmarked cars onnthe M3 / M4 near me and front & rear protection would be a must.
