Meguiars Trim Detailer

My supposedly black mudflaps have been looking rather grey for a while now, and have also developed some streaks - as if some solvent-like has dripped on them - which won't wash out.

So, I decided to order up some of the new Meguiars Trim Details from Bushy to try to improve matters, and improve matters it certainly did, as you can see below!

This stuff certainly brings up these black parts suprisingly well - better than I'd expected, in fact. I also tried a bit on the grey plastic lower body fittings on the A4, and whilst the difference isn't as noticeable, it does add a lustre to the dull plastic finish, without it being too shiny.

The Trim Detailer can be used on plastic and rubber parts, and only requires a very small amount to be effective. In fact, it requires so little that I suspect it'll take me around 5 years to use up the whole bottle, which is obviously not good for Meguiar's business smile.gif It will be interesting to see how long the finish lasts on the car, as this will obviously dictate how long the bottle really lasts for.

It is worth pointing out that this is NOT a cleaner, it's more like a polish which just brings out the original (black) colour of the parts it is used on.

In summary, I would say this is a highly effective treatment for those exterior plastic and rubber trim parts, such as window surrounds, mudflaps and body mouldings, which brings them up as new, with very little effort required - other than a thorough wash beforehand. I can recommend it for those of you who, like me, are just a little obsessive over having their car look in top condition.

Obviously I may appear bias on these products but thanks for the write up

This stuff seems to last really well, before i started using this i used a product called Hi-lite from concept chemicals, this really needed re-applying every week

Nw the trim detailer only needs once a month, it has a similar effect as waxed paintwork as far as water is concerned

I use it on my grills (front & rear), mud flaps and window rubbers

Outstanding

Thanks for reminding me Roy.

I had to redo it this weekend 'cos it was looking like it was in that "before" piccy I posted earlier. So I reckon it needs to be redone every 3-4 weeks to keep looking clean.

As I said before, it only takes a minimal amount on the mud-flaps, to even using it every 3-4 weeks means it'll last forever.

I actually wiped around the rear valance (which is grey plastic) this weekend too. It brought a sheen to the normally matt surface, and partially disguised the scratches from where I reversed into a bollard.

All in all, I'd highly recommend the stuff!
