Keegs
Back from the ether and ready to post some topics... my most important one is my long on going problem of the alarm going off for no reason... it's been back to the dealer yet again and still they can't find a fault! Got advised to contact Audi UK customer service, which I did, they were a little surprised to here that’s what the dealer recommended but never the less they were helpful. They are going to do some digging around and come back to me Monday next week, just wondered with all the new cabs out there, has anyone else experienced this problem yet as it does seem to crop up on other cabs now???? Ari
I remember Car magazines long term car had an issue with the alarm early on, but the problem went away and the car's keeper put it down to "operator error", he thought the person that had the problem may have been leaving a window slightly open. I'm sure I read about this somewhere else too, although I might just be remembering a post that you made a while back... Very bad news though, must be one of the very most annoying things imaginable, and very embarassing from a neighbours point of view. A guy down the road from me had an alarm on a Rover that kept going off at night. I was ready to lynch him! He's got rid of it now and got a rather smart A4 saloon, thankfully. SteveCab
alarm has never gone off on mine except the time i deliberately set it off to see what it sounded like!
Ari
Out of interest, does it "tell" you if the alarm has been triggered in your absence? Different LED flashing code or something?
SteveCab
no, but the screwdriver hanging out of the keyhole is always a good indication

Keegs
Well, picked the car up from the dealer on Saturday after a week. They now apparently have a fix to turn the sensitivity down on the interior sensors and also replaced the boot solenoid lock, which can cause problems. So I though we shall see... So it was nice and sunny, put the roof down, sat my little boy in the front where he can keep warm with the heating on and after 10 miles poor little lad was shivering and saying he was freezing even with the heating on full???? Ran my hands over the heating vents only to find my vent was blowing hot air and as you went across the car to the passenger vent, bit by bit they were getting colder to absolute freezing on the left hand vent Got a call from the dealer today to be told the engineer found this fault (although it was not there when it went in) but they had not fixed it so they are going to pick this car up one evening this week to get that fixed now! Great eh!!!
Hants_Cruiser_UK
I set my alarm off to see what it sounded like yesterday and I was shocked at how quiest it was. Its not as load as my wrist watch alarm - can this be improved?? My partner has a new Clio and that standard fit alarm could wake the dead
Ari
The day after I got mine it was on the drive and a noisy car went past and set the alarm going!! I raised this with the dealer and they were going to turn the sensitivity down next time it's in, but actually it seems to have been OK since... Think I should have it turned down anyway just in case?
