Woweeee!

How did I miss this debate first time around!

For the record, I like the 944 and would like to suggest that those buying them recognise a well built performance bargain when they see one and one of a relatively classic shape when looking at its counterparts of the time.

Thank you gents beerchug.gif... sat in an office posting to the threads that interest/enrage you can sometimes feel quite alone in your opinion...it always nice to be proved right! 169144-ok.gif

check out www.mendrax.com for some great images n the 951 gallery section... for proof, if more proof were needed that the 944 still has what it takes..

Ok my 2 cents worth.

I own a Porsche 993 turbo and a 2002 BMW 330ci sport,but I did own a 944 turbo(black/black leather)and a 944 before that.

When I was driving my 944 turbo,I Went to test drive a Porsche 996.It was just like a quicker version of my BMW, a bit souless/boring really(not in my opinion what a Porsche is about)though It made my mind up to get a 993 turbo for definite.

I Got back in my 944 turbo and within a couple of seconds, a smile was back on my face-great cars;I was very sad to see it go,but wanted a 993 turbo and needed a family car as well,so it had to go.

Got £500 more than I advertised it for as well-had to beat off the buyers!!

For the money 944's are pretty much unbeatable.

But everyone to their own.

As for lotus, all I know is a friend of mine had an esprit and after a few months sold it, bought a 911 3.2 and has had it ever since I think.

In my opinion 944's are more of a Porsche than modern 911's, and hence better cars, whether they are better than a Lotus Elise,I'll hold back a driving opinion as I haven't driven one,but a car made from a plastic kit, with a rover engine seems more like a kit car than a lotus to me.

Anyway the main thing is Enjoy your cars, not matter what you have.
