Review of tuning box

Well, what can I say. Quite possibly the finest 50 notes I ever parted with. Bought an analogue tuning box from e-bay (129 quids worth!) which came to me via Dragon performance tuning. Dead easy to fit, once you've finally found the fuel temp sender! Anyway, put it on and what a difference. The low end acceleration in 1/2 is great. The torque is fantastic. You can do 40 mph in fifth at about 1000 rpm or just above. To cap it all, the fuel economy has increased by about 10mpg, and my new insurance premium (goodbye MoreThan, hello Egg) is 20 quid cheaper than my old one! (with the box declared of course).. 169144-ok.gif

Well, after a lot of searching and researching, there are three types - the dodgy resistor, the analogue box and the digital box (then of course there is the full remap). The beauty of these boxes is they can be taken off. I got mine from dragon tuning through e-bay ( it was 80 notes cheaper).

They work by adding a box in series to extend the fuel temperature sender loop. You simply unplug the sender from the clip, plug the box onto the sender sensor and the original clip to the box. they work by telling the engine system the fuel is very cold and hence more fuel is injected into the engine, giving more torque and power. You can read more about it using the link above. 169144-ok.gif

Exactly! The re-map is official as the cars settings are re-read into the VAG and it is all above board. The box you take off before you take it for a service and they don't know any different! If you go for one, have a look on e-bay. The company I bought from sell through "agents" and I saved a small fortune!
